Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Dark Lip Neutralization.
Dark Lip Neutralization uses targeted corrective pigments and precise micro-pigmentation to neutralize brown, purple, or uneven tones. A topical numbing agent is applied, and results build gradually over sessions for safe, controlled brightening and balanced color.
Yes, when performed by a trained technician the treatment is suitable for most skin tones and lip textures. A thorough consultation and patch test identify any sensitivities and ensure the correct color-correction approach for your individual pigmentation.
Most clients require two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart to achieve balanced, natural color. Severity of discoloration and individual skin response affect the number of sessions and possible touch-ups.
Expect mild swelling and tenderness for 24–48 hours, then surface darkening and light flaking during the first week. Full color settles over four to six weeks. Avoid sun, exfoliation, and irritating products while lips heal.
Neutralization can alter or balance some pigment tone but is not a guaranteed method for removing previous tattoos. Older pigments may respond unpredictably; laser removal or specialist correction may be recommended during your consultation.
Initial results appear immediately but will soften as lips heal; final tone is visible after several weeks. Longevity varies, typically one to three years, influenced by sun exposure, skincare, and lifestyle. Annual touch-ups maintain optimal balance.
